2015 Albert Bichot, Criots Batard Montrachet 750ml

The 2015 Criots-Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a fragrant bouquet with scents of red apple, frangipane and just a touch of wild fennel. This is quite attractive, even if it would benefit from more delineation. The palate is well balanced with a viscous opening, a smear of clear honey across the citrus fruit, touches of brioche and pralines, leading to a lightly spiced, if rather abrupt finish. This is just a little too rich for my liking and it just erases some of the terroir expression.
