In 1988 Henri-Frédéric Roch, co-director of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and grandson of Henri Leroy decided to create his own personal, exclusive domaine from some of DRC’s choicest parcels in Vosne-Romanée.

The vineyards are treated organically and hold only old vines (30-100 years), the domaine harvesting as late as possible in several tries, to maximise fruit and phenolic ripeness. The wines are vinified naturally, with whole bunch fermentation and punching down by foot, followed by no fining, no filtration and very light use of sulphur.

Domaine Meo-Camuzet possesses or oversees 38 acres of land in Vosne-Romanee, situated in the renowned Burgundy region's Cote d’Or. The establishment traces its roots back to the early 20th century, initiated by Etienne Camuzet, a notable figure in Cote d’Or politics, who embarked on acquiring vineyards. Upon his passing, his daughter entrusted these holdings to Jean Meo, a relative with ties to Charles de Gaulle. Historically, much of the domaine's land was cultivated by metayers, or sharecroppers, who shared a portion of their produce with the estate while retaining the remainder. In 1945, a young Henri Jayer commenced his tenure tending to Meo-Camuzet's parcels in Richebourg, Vosne-Romanee, Les Brulees, and Nuits-Meurgers. Upon Jean-Nicolas Meo assuming operational control in 1985, he collaborated closely with the esteemed Jayer for a three-year period, culminating in Jayer's retirement in 1988. Despite Jayer's passing in 2006, his winemaking influence resonates in the contemporary vintages produced by Meo-Camuzet. Presently, the estate crafts Grands Crus, Premiers Crus, and village wines.
