Dominus Estate, a California icon with French winemaking roots, was established by Christian Moueix, heir to Chateau Petrus in Pomerol, France. Founded in 1982 in Yountville, Napa Valley, through a partnership with Robin Lail and Marcia Daniel Smith, daughters of Inglenook's John Daniel Jr., Dominus embodies Napa's classic style. Sole proprietor since 1995, Moueix, educated at UC Davis, crafts wines blending Bordeaux tradition with Napa terroir. Utilizing the historic Napanook property, Dominus wines exude a distinct French flair, overseen by a team of French winemakers. Reflecting Bordeaux's essence, the vineyards host Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, producing 85,000 bottles annually, with Napanook as its tribute label.
