Nicolas Rossignol, hailing from a lineage of Volnay winegrowers, assumed vinification duties at the family estate, Rossignol-Jeanniard, in 1994 after studying winemaking in Beaune. Gaining experience at esteemed domains like Joseph Voillot and Louis Latour, as well as international stints in South Africa and Bordeaux, he founded his own estate in 1997 with 3 hectares. By 1998, it expanded to 16 hectares, further growing to 17 hectares by 2016. Introducing new appellations such as Savigny-les-Beaune and Beaune 1er Cru, Rossignol consolidated his wines under one label, Domaine Nicolas Rossignol, in 2011, relocating the vineyard to Beaune for expansion. Plans for a new winery in 2016 underscore his commitment to quality production.
